Product Overview

This Brake Booster Delete Kit is designed for the VW Mk1 Golf and Caddy, providing a cleaner and more spacious engine bay by eliminating the bulky factory brake booster. The kit repositions the master cylinder outward, simplifying the engine bay layout and improving the overall appearance—making it particularly suitable for performance builds, race cars, or show vehicles.

Please note: Removing the brake booster will result in a firmer brake pedal feel. The brake pedal will require noticeably more effort compared to the factory assisted system, which may not be suitable for all drivers.

For optimal braking performance and safety, we strongly recommend pairing this kit with our GW652569 280mm Big Brake Kit:

The kit includes a stainless steel actuator pin which must be installed into the clevis joint on the brake pedal. When setting up the linkage, the measurement from the centre of the clevis holes to the end of the actuator rod should be approximately 128 mm.

After installation, ensure there is slight free play between the actuator pin and the brake master cylinder. The linkage must not be preloaded or solid, as the master cylinder piston must always be able to return fully and move freely backwards. Failure to maintain proper free play may result in brake drag or improper brake operation.

These kits are designed to work with VW Mk2 and Mk3 brake master cylinders with a 22 mm or 22.2 mm bore diameter.

The bracket is manufactured from durable mild steel and finished in a black powder-coated finish for excellent corrosion resistance and long service life.
